Welcome to the Loading Dock—our monthly round-up of some of the latest things we’re building in Helm CONNECT! Our team was busy in July, working hard to bring you the best software in the maritime industry, with all the tools you need to make your business successful.
*Development is always a work in progress and is not guaranteed for inclusion in future updates, as priorities and resources are subject to change.
Assets (Beta) Card View
First up are some exciting improvements we’re making to the Management > Assets > Assets (Beta) tab. Launched as a pre-release in Helm CONNECT 1.25, the first version of the Assets (Beta) tab displayed assets in a list view instead of the card view used by the original Management > Assets > Assets tab. This compact design was so customers with large numbers of assets could easily see, filter, and sort their assets. However, while our long-term vision is for the Assets (Beta) tab to eventually replace the original Assets tab, we’re also working on an optimized card view for customers with a smaller number of assets. Naturally, there will be a toggle to quickly switch between the two views. Additionally, we’ve been reorganizing and streamlining filters to bring you all the functionality you’re used to from the original Assets tab but in an improved, easy-to-use layout.
Please reach out to your account manager if you’d like to see a demo of the Assets (Beta) tab or want to try it out for yourself.
Storage Locations
Next, let’s talk about inventory storage locations. This is another pre-release feature, launched to interested customers in Helm CONNECT 1.25, that allows you to track your parts by their specific locations on each of your assets and transfer parts from one location to another. While in its pre-release, this feature didn’t integrate with all the inventory items in Helm CONNECT; we’ve since been building connections between storage locations and everything that could impact your inventory, including requisitions, tasks, forms, and checklists.
Grace Periods
And last but definitely not least, we’re adding a grace period option to your form and checklist schedules, giving you the flexibility to decide when your forms and checklists are truly overdue.

As always, these are items that we’ve worked on that are subject to change and may or may not be in the next version of Helm CONNECT
That brings this volume of the Loading Dock to a close! Thanks for reading and we’ll see you again next month. Happy Helm-ing!
